Old Man Jenkins Jr. [1] is an elderly fish who debuts in the third season episode "The Sponge Who Could Fly." In episodes before his debut and other materials after his debut, the proper name "Old Man Jenkins" was used as a generic proper noun used for Incidental 86, Incidental 91, and Old Homo Walker.[2] [3]

Clarification

He is a baldheaded and wrinkly skinny dark green fish with a lite grey beard and eyebrows. He wears blue overalls with two golden snaps. In his debut, "The Sponge Who Could Fly," he was originally a skinny night gray hairless fish that mostly resembled Incidental lxxx. He wore a farmer's hat, greenish overalls, and yellowish sleeves.

Personality

Old Man Jenkins is shown to usually be a strict, stubborn, and cranky old man. He has a stiff dislike of "flying machines" and was even willing to knock out SpongeBob every bit a stuntman for revenge because of his "flight machines." His stubborn side was shown in "Senior Discount" where he refused to go out the Krusty Krab fifty-fifty though Mr. Krabs take told him several times to get out. He also appears to accept a bit of an insane side equally seen in "High Ocean Diving" where he tried to get the residents of Bikini Bottom to believe he is the true King Neptune. He too does testify a kind and thoughtful side at times in such episodes every bit "Friend or Foe" where he kindly accepts giving Mr. Krabs' and Plankton's patty a try.

In the series the proper noun "Former Man Jenkins" was originally a generic name that was given to both Incidental 86 and Incidental 91. In "The Sponge Who Could Fly" he was given his own separate grapheme. He has made very few cameos in the series which were ordinarily short speaking roles. In the episode "High Body of water Diving," he makes his first prominent role and has made many more than major roles in the serial ever since.

"The Sponge Who Could Fly"

He first appears as a farmer at his barn where he scolds SpongeBob and Patrick for ruining his silo with his "flying machine." He then gives up on farming and becomes a sailor instead where he almost crashed into a burnt out lighthouse until SpongeBob replaced the lighthouse bulb allowing him to turn around only for him to crash into some other rock and sink to the bottom of the sea. He lastly appears every bit a stuntman named "Cannonball Jenkins" where he launches himself out of a cannon and punches SpongeBob's inflatable pants causing him to fall onto the footing due to his pants exploding.

"Friend or Foe"

He appears in Mr. Krabs' story where he reveals that Jenkins was his sometime babyhood neighbor. He and Plankton later have him try their Plab Patty that they created together which knocks him out. "The Principal Drain"

While SpongeBob and Patrick are looking for more than information on the master drain, he pulls them into his house when he hears them talking near it. He says the main drain is existent only unfortunately, he has no idea where it is located.

He is the customer who orders a Rusty on Rye, leading SpongeBob to perform a séance to come across Rusty Rickets and learn how to make the sandwich.

"Loftier Bounding main Diving"

When SpongeBob finally makes it to the surface of the ocean, he finds Old Man Jenkins at the top with a bunch of junk. He tries to go SpongeBob to believe he is Male monarch Neptune and SpongeBob playfully tells him he is Poseidon.

Onetime Human Jenkins believes he is Poseidon at offset, but soon realizes it is actually SpongeBob. He reveals that he accidentally ended upward at the surface by getting pulled up past a bunch of balloons. When they cease up getting back down to Bikini Bottom, the Bottomites end upwardly believing that Erstwhile Man Jenkins is King Neptune, until the real Rex Neptune himself arrives and zaps Old Man Jenkins for impersonating him.

"Plankton Paranoia"

He appears at Mr. Krabs and Plankton's anniversary party.

"Appointment TV"

Afterwards SpongeBob'southward friends terminate the lost Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episode recital, One-time Human being Jenkins chases them off for using his outdoor amphitheater. Still, he just wanted to play along with them. SpongeBob gladly plays along with him and offers him the office as Mermaid Man. He happily accepts his role and flies off into the sky.

"FarmerBob"

Mr. Krabs has SpongeBob and Patrick work at Quondam Human being Jenkins' farm in gild to pay off his grocery bill. They endeavour to finish their assigned tasks and help him gear up for his upcoming befouled party, but they terminate up declining everyone, as well equally destroying his barn. After SpongeBob and Patrick do some barn raising, Old Human being Jenkins ends upwardly with a brand new barn for his barn party. At the end of the episode, when Patrick reveals to have taken a bath after being kicked out of the Krusty Krab and is in his bath dress, Quondam Human Jenkins gets frightened. SpongeBob questions him on this, equally he tells him it is considering Patrick's bath wearing apparel vicious off of him and his butt was being clearly seen by everyone. When everyone realizes this, they all express joy at Patrick's expense.

"Senior Disbelieve"

He comes to the Krusty Krab and disrupts business as normal, and Mr. Krabs tries to get him out. They call for their elders and later get kicked out of the Krusty Krab by them. They so take to go to the Chum Bucket, where Plankton tries to get them to leave but they hit him and tell to respect their elders.

"The Ghost of Plankton"

Old Man Jenkins appears at Plankton'south "funeral," but when Plankton is revealed to be alive, Erstwhile Human being Jenkins suggests that they should stomp on him.

"Hiccup Plague"

He is seen in the episode mocking Bubble Bass for lament about his hiccups. He states that back in his solar day, hiccups could plough people inside out.

  • In early planning stages for The SpongeBob Picture: Sponge Out of Water, SpongeBob was going to address part of his speech to an apocalyptic Sometime Man Jenkins.
  • In the Croation dub, he has various names. In "Friend or Foe," his name is "Johnny" (or Džoni), and in "The Main Drain," his name is "Jure."
  • In the Finnish dub, he has diverse names. In "The Sponge Who Could Fly," his name is "Jänkkinen," and in "The Main Drain," his name is "Vanha Herra Jokinen."
