How Do I Get My Desktop Icons to Open in Google Chrome Again

Windows 10 > First > Settings > Apps > Default apps > under Web Browser, click whichever browser is listed and so select Internet Explorer.

Correct click one of those shortcuts
Click Properties
Click Full general tab
Click Change
Cull Internet Explorer
Click OK

Click Apply then OK

Click Kickoff > Settings > Apps > Default apps
Click your current browser then choose Internet Explorer.

Hi JanleRoux,

right click on the desktop (if you tin can), click view, and brand sure desktop icons are checked off.

This may add together them back...

If no luck, and yous'd all the same like to talk to someone, you can achieve out to MS directly:

Hi Janle,

I noticed y'all edited your initial question, are your icons there, they just launch within Chrome? Do y'all want them to open up within some other browser, IE?

Click commencement - settings - apps - default apps - alter your browser from chrome to IE, and then try your shortcuts again.

If this is not your issue, delight allow me know, and we'll figure it out.

I take tried all your suggestions without any success. The created desktop shortcuts still open up in Google chrome in stead of opening the websites.

Hmmm, what type of shortcuts are these, Janle? I was under the impression they were website shortcuts, but are they something different?

What should they be opening in?

Is there whatsoever chance y'all could send a screenshot to me?

Press the Windows Fundamental + PrntSc and a photo will save within a screenshot binder in your Pictures folder. Send it over if possible.

I'k sorry nosotros aren't getting this resolved. If you can give me any more info, or a screenshot of the files/shortcuts that shouldn't exist in launching in chrome, that would exist neat!

Press the Windows Key + PrntSc and a photo will salvage inside a screenshot folder in your Pictures binder. Transport it over if possible.
